Having a lived experience of my own, led me to search for support when I needed it most, much the same way you are doing now, by reading my profile. My journey, still on going, has moved me to help others understand their emotional wellbeing and life course. Mental Health is a complex aspect of human wellbeing, highly individualised, and multifaceted. Influenced by a range of factors; genetics, environment, personal experiences, relationships, social support, and personal lifestyle choices, needs vary from person to person, and what will work for one person, will not work for another.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, my philosophy is to balance theoretical models of psychotherapy with an empathetic and accepting therapeutic relationship.
Together we will empower your sense of self to experience the world you live in, and your place in it, differently. Offering a supportive environment within which you will be heard and emotionally held, we will discover together preventative and restorative ways and reach your goals. I use methods such as sand tray, clay, use of miniatures and art, in addition to the ‘talking cure’, for an integrative approach that offers a personalised plan.
Offering short term counselling to provide symptom relief and reduction, or longer term therapeutic treatment to develop alternative perspectives into relationship patterns, maladaptive behaviours, or emotional discomfort, we’ll discover psychological adjustments required for significant life changes such as, long term health conditions, retirement, menopause, empty nest syndrome, grief, loss or end of life preparation.

As a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I offer a confidential, empathetic, and judgement free relationship within which to explore how that support could best fit your individual needs.
Sometimes the cause of distress or upset is clear to us, but solutions hard to find. On other occasions, searching for the issues themselves can be equally challenging. Therapy can help in both these circumstances; promoting growth when things seem at their worst, or helping us find the path when we lose sight of it.
Being seen and heard, and having someone to talk to can make a big difference in your life. But sometimes including different techniques can help the talking process along - things such as writing therapies or working with clay, or in a sandtray. Breathing, Mindfulness, or Guided Imagery can help connect the mind and body, calming anxieties.
I have worked with a broad range of people from all walks of life, backgrounds, sexes, genders, and ages, with a range of issues.
I offer short or long term work, on fixed or open ended arrangements, from a warm, comfortable, and inviting studio in central Newcastle. And as an advocate of fresh air and movement, walk/talk therapy, in a number of locations and settings, can also be arranged.
